Lighter, more compact, and with a lower centre of gravity, WR450F has been developed for enhanced performance in the bush at all speeds. WIth a more tractable and longer pulling engine, revised ECU settings, new chassis, new wide-ratio transmission, lightweight rear wheel and brake system and more, WR450F offers increased performance and handling in the toughest off-road condtions.

A redesigned aluminum bilateral beam frame with a 15 mm lower head tube and WR450F-specific front engine mounts provides just the right amount of strength and flex for the perfect combination of straight-line stability and cornering performance. With a lower centre of gravity, the WR450F is a better handling machine with lighter feel, more agility and increased traction, allowing the rider to tackle tight, technical trail sections with greater confidence.

SLIMMER BODY & IMPROVED ERGOS2024 Yamaha WR450F

A new slimmer, flatter and more compact body eases rider movement for improved control, including more seamless, rounded seat edges, revised side covers and narrower shrouds. The rider triangle is also improved with increased legroom between the seat and footpegs for enhanced rider comfort.

    • The industry-leading, fully adjustable KYB® coil spring-type fork with speed-sensitive damping provides exceptional balance between handling and bump absorption, and now features a new hand operated compression clicker for toolless adjustments. The linkage type rear suspension uses a KYB® shock with specially-tuned damping characteristics to match the WR450F chassis. New settings also result in a 10mm lower seat height than the YZ450F and lower centre of gravity for excellent cornering performance and rider comfort in technical sections.

ENGINE

 

All-New 450cc Four-Stroke Engine

The new 2024 WR450F's advanced four-stroke engine has been completely redesigned to be lighter, more compact, higher revving and more powerful across the entire rev range. Among the changes are new exhaust and intake port shapes, larger diameter titanium intake valves, new piston, cylinder, crankshaft and balancer assembly, and a switch from wet sump to dry sump lubrication. Additionally, ECU settings are tailored to suit the specific needs of trail riding and enduro competition.

New Traction Control System

An all-new Traction Control System communicates wheel slip to the ECU, tuning the engine to help control rear wheel traction. Three levels can be selected: HIGH, LOW or OFF.

Advanced Fuel Injection

The engine breathes through a 44mm Mikuni® throttle body fed by a high-pressure electric pump to ensure optimum fuel atomisation and power for a wide range of altitudes, weather and riding conditions. 

New Compact Lightweight Clutch

The all-new clutch design replaces the coil springs of the previous model with a new disc spring and integrates primary gear and basket into a single steel unit. The result is a more compact, lightweight and durable assembly which yields smooth engagement and excellent feel. Premium clutch cover employs a stylish geometric design that helps minimise scratching and lends a bold look.

Electric Starter System
The WR450F features a compact electric starter system to simplify restarts on the trail and add convenience everywhere else.

New Wide-Ratio Five-Speed Transmission

The WR450F’s wide-ratio 5-speed transmission provides a gear for any off-road location, from tight technical sections to open fields and fire roads. The all-new tri-shaft transmission layout vertically stacks the transmission shafts, raising the centre shaft and forming a triangle between the crank, drive shaft and main shaft for a lighter, more compact transmission.

CHASSIS / SUSPENSION

All-New Aluminium Bilateral Beam Frame

Striking the perfect combination of precise cornering performance and handling stability, the redesigned aluminium bilateral beam frame consists of more than 10 different aluminum components welded together with WR450F-specific engine mounts. The lower frame results in a better handling machine with lighter feel, improved bump absorption and increased traction, allowing the rider to enter corners with greater confidence and more line choices.

Class-Leading Suspension

High Performance Details

WR450F boasts a wide range of additional top-spec details carried over from the competition-tested YZ450F including rubber-mounted, four-position adjustable handlebar clamps, aluminium tapered handlebars, wide footpegs and a new quick-adjust clutch perch.

Rider Convenience

WR405F features enduro-developed components including 7.4 litre fuel capacity with fuel, multi-function meter with fuel and engine warning lights, 18-inch rear wheel, composite engine guard, sealed O-ring chain and a folding aluminium kickstand.

Embedded Graphics
Yamaha’s unique embedded graphics are built into the bodywork for extended durability, resisting both peeling and damage.
